As jno mentions, deleting posts would keep users of the site from accessing desired items. And as Artful so aptly acknowledges - hiccups are not nice and I will pass this along with the previous request to the Heavies in Technical for any suggestion as to how to keep this from occurring, if there is indeed anything we can do on our end. Thanks again for the suggestions and for raising these issues.

I've had the hiccups too Artful - I didn't even know it was happening until the robots deleted them for me and I went into my profile to find why my posts had been banned. As long as the robots do it, no need for me to. But I agree this sort of thing shouldn't count towards our mysterious daily limit, and perhaps robot school could teach them to recognise inadvertent repeat posts.
As for why the limit on posts - I believe that was originally set up as a deterrent to imposters, malicious reporters and other pranksters; no idea if it works or not. I agree with your original suggestion about warnings, Artful - but then so does AB Ed, and that's much more significant!
Hi all,
In response to your Question, members are limited to 3 posts - Questions or Answers - within a five minute period across all categories except ChatterBank. You will be temporarily suspended if you exceed this limit. This is to prohibit naughty people from misusing the site. Thank you for your patience and hopefully your days of bewilderment are now over.
As for hiccups - the Heavies are looking into this. In the meantime make sure you click on the Submit button only once. I'm a mad clicker as well and will sometimes submit repeat posts to the site because I think it hasn't registered - but it has. A good rule: if the hour glass is spinning, don't press submit again. And be wary of shortcut keys if you have them.
