Rankings. AB, Give us our chance to shine. lol
Our Profile Should be visible to all to show weather the person is expreienced or not and to show how helpful his/her answers are. Also People have ranks which are Raised based on the amount of stars they have. E.G:
Stars gained (from their answers Beeing rated)
1-10 - New Member
10-30 - Knolageable
30-60 - Experienced
60-150 - Professonal
150+ - Senior Member
Or summit like that, Just a suggestion.
But i think it should be compulsary that people rank the answers to their question. That way we get a good idea weather or not it was hepful and the rank goes up. You could build on that. What do ya say AB?

I never give stars because they have no real meaning. Sometimes people give stars only to people who agree with them'; sometimes when something amuses them; sometimes to everybody on the thread; etc.
I like to thank everybody for contributing and give feedback on what advice I found particularly useful.
Also remember that most of us are really knowledgeable in some areas and utter dunces in others, so stars wouldn't help.
Cheers vinny. :-(
Matt - unfortunately we already have a number of problems with new people being scared of more "established" members, and as vinny has justillustrated by again choosing to slate my innocent and half-joking at the time suggestion of a wider use of colour than just green and grey, the idea tends to send people running to the hills yelling "hierarchy, aaarrrrggggh".
Tis true that the idea would be open to utter abuse, and so the rankings would be a total waste of time unfortunately.
Plus, I have been deemed by some to be generally helpful on legal matters, but I've also been known to get it wrong, and others regularly delight in proving that where they can.
Moreover, what's helpful to one, may be utterly unhelpful to others - it depends on how oyu like people's style of answering. There's been a debate before about the merits of providing links as answers.
Good idea Matt, but I don't think it'll work here. Sorry!
Again, perhaps we could have a colour for "tells it like it is". outaboutnowt has never been afraid to have a big fat go at me, but I'm now pleased to see that (s)he is giving me a second chance! :-) I just wish people would be honest when making a dig. Although I concde that maybe Vinny just couldn't remember who had made the suggestion. :-p
And anway, it's not usually the new ones that are scared of me - it's the old ones! :-p (age in terms of membership length, not actual birth certificate age!!)
PS - Am not a cat. :-p
