I have asked this before and you showed interest Ed, but nothing has changed.

In multi page threads, when one reads down the various posts and comes to one that requires a response, why after posting this response is one then left at the last page, needing to remember how far one was down the responses, so as to carry on reading further posts?

Hope that is understandable.

I understand your problem AoG - quite annoying,

What I do is open a second window/tab and then cut/paste the page url of the page I'm on.

Then I can reply on the second tab/window whilst leaving the first one positioned at my current position.
Perfectly clear question AOG - I do as Dave does and open a second tab.
Threads should also reopen where I last read to, not at the beginning
I don't know what any of you are on about :p

Baths, if a thread has six pages and you read up to page two, then post a reply - you are immediately taken to the end of page six.
Ah right, thanks Mamya, (actually I was kidding about not understanding) but I wouldn't dream of contributing to a post if I hadn't read all of it.

Ok, sorry didn't get the pun - AOG means replying to 'Poster x' on page 2 (for example - one doesn't need to have read pages 3-6 to do that.
I'd always read to the end. Someone else might have made the same point.........better.
but I would have to read the rest of the pages just to make sure I didn't look stupid ;)

Exactly svejka!

We all have our methods then.
Indeed Mamya, very diplomatic and the voice of reason, as always :)

You think ?
Apologies AOG for straying off topic.
I used to be able to move a thread which I had open, to latest posts by clicking something which I have forgotten & unfortunately since upgrading to W10 I am unable to do this can anyone help please ?
If some of our, ahem, more elderly contributors are afraid they'll forget what they were going to say by the time they read the whole thread, I'd suggest they copy the post they want to reply to and then delete it after composing their answer.
Hope that helps. ;o)
No svejk, it doesn't help at all. At what age does "elderly" begin in your world?

Older than me.

Perhaps you have the services of a PA so as to note down the ones you must reply to, then go through the trouble to retrace your steps back to the first one that requires an answer, then you finish back at the end once more only to repeat everything again to answer the second one on your list, and so on and so on? :0)
