What is the reason behind newbies being green?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.hi eye-nose,msbadley, i also found that some people are downright rude on this site ,I just try to ignore them because i think they are just trying to wind you up to get a reaction from you.the serious topics on the left i find are generally good and people give you serious answers that can be very helpful .chatterbank to me appears to be much more lighthearted .when you are green people are a bit cautious because there have been a lot of people changing their names and coming back pretending they are new users and winding eveyone up .also some people jump straight down your throat if you spell somthing wrong but if you take no notice and just keep going they get fed up and move on to someone else.of course there will always be sarcastic people who seem to jump in take the mick out of you and then dissapear for the rest of the thread ,as i said it is just best to ignore these .the corby loon for instance is often sarcastic but i am sure he doesn't really mean to be unpleasant and anyway if he does who cares ,its not as if you will ever meet him so it is ok if you really want to have a pop at him carry on .cb seems to have different people on at different times i find myself that late at night it is very pleasant and it is normally the same crowd ,we just talk mostly trivia . also a few people who are green dip their toes in the water (so to speak ) late at night as there are fewer people on and it is easier to get going .of course you can join a thread and be totally ignored ,this is so annoying i know but it happens , if you just keep trying and do not ask obviously rude questions to offend people i find in the end someone will answer you and then most other people in the thread will respond also.
