yup, Buenchico gives really good answers. There are quite a few people here who do - that's what makes it such an exceptional site. I'm always impressed by the breadth of knowledge of shaneystar and Quizmonster and many more; others are really good in specialist areas, such as jan_bug and Lillabet (both, I believe, now in semi-retirement) on legal matters and andy_hughes on matters of the heart.

mycatis is ever so nice too, of course.

Thanks for your comment, Jno, but I couldn't possibly accept nomination for the "AnswerBanker of the Year" award. You see, at least a third of the categories here I never - ever - even so much as open, never mind offer answers in.
That's because I find the avoided topics about as interesting as watching my toenails grow! I mean, for example...Motoring? There is a group in my local we call The Cortina Club...which rather dates us, I suppose. As soon as a second member comes through the door, we cry: "Oh, no, they've reached critical mass!" Sure enough, it never takes more than 60 seconds for the word 'cam-belt' or somesuch to come echoing over from their end of the bar. And as for ChatterBank...Lord save us!
Each to his own, of course...I certainly would not wish to deprive any member of his/her own "thing", but - given that there are clearly thousands of questions I never even see - I have to decline.

Nevertheless, you are most kind to consider me worthy. I certainly agree with Kaktus, that you yourself are probably more deserving.

ED: re Buenchico, I see we now have a green Buen-chico posting, as well as a shineystar. Heaven knows why these people don't just get a name of their own if they want to post; but can you or your robots do anything about these near-impostors?

Oh dear...this is why I changed my name jno.
I noticed the shineystar one but I haven't seen the green Buen-chico as yet. I did speak to Ed about and she said if there was any trouble to get in touch.The thing is they are as near as dammit to the original names and if they start posting nonsense people may think it is me or the original Buenchico.
Most annoying. It seems like too much of a coincidence to me.

doesn't really matter what they or you post shaney2, the thing is that people may think it's you when it's not. I believe AB Ed could be more proactive here, rejecting usernames that are very close to already existing ones, regardless of what sort of thing they post. Don't see why valuable contributors like you or Buenchico should be deliberately muddled up with others.

I haven't seen the real one post for a while ...he always signs his posts so this has to be a fake. .Plus, the near name to me posted in that thread. Someone on Q&P asked about my change of name and I had to explain..Hence my change of name.I find it all a bit strange .
If these people are genuine and reading this thread perhaps they would care to comment !!
