You know that old joke about two blokes (let's say they lived in Dublin) who found a dead donkey and didn't know what to do with it, so the first one, let's call him Pat, says, let's raffle it, and the second guy, let's call him Murphy, says, how much for? Pat says, 5 quid a ticket, Murphy says great, but what happens when we sell all the tickets and draw a winner? the Donkey is dead! Pat says, Oh well we'll give him his money back, well, I was just thinking about this CB investment opportunity, and I was wondering, could it be like, a raffle?

The hallmark of any good organisation is leadership by example. Flip-flopping between chatting/not chatting doesn't help this website since nobody knows for sure what's allowed and what isn't.

How difficult can it be to clarify things once and for all?

There has always been room for SOME good natured "chat" on the AB, and particular lee-way is given to AB Suggestions. Good natured is the operative term here.

A bigger problem than harmless chat is the practice of some users who register just to report others. Most of these users do not contribute to the AB in any other way. This verges on bullying and exploits the moderation-by-peer system we have here.  

We appreciate the sense of proprietorship some people have for the old AB, however, we do not appreciate people exploiting our registration process and "dummy" registrations/accounts wil be deleted.
