Here it is.

A woman got on a bus. She had a baby with her. As she was paying her fare, the driver said "That's the ugliest baby I've ever seen. It's hideous"

The woman was very upset and went to the back of the bus where she sat next to another passenger. He asked her what was wrong. She said "That driver has just insulted me. He's really upset me"

The man told her to go back and give him a piece of her mind as he shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

He said "You go and see him. Don't worry, I'll look after the chimp while you go"

Perhaps the problem might stem from a perfectly serious question getting a flippant first reply. If the question is answered properly by more than one person initially, then, and only then it might be reasonable for a bit of banter as long as it was in good taste. Yes...?
