I would like to know why having chat questions spread all over the site, is easier to manage than having one single designated area for them?
i would like to know why, considering B&S is about 75% chat and drivel anyway, renaming it chatterbank is not an option? you have to moderate it anyway. people are even disguising chat as questions and asking any old question there because it "gets most traffic"!
i would like to know what difference having more moderaters would make? - you are dealing with loads of chat on B&S anyway - all people have asked for is that all these chats are put in a single area away from the serious topic of B&S
i would like to know why you are ignoring the requests and concerns of many of your users?
I think that we should be of the opinion that this site is:
1. Free
2. Not owned by the users
3. Better left to be administrated by those that know best
4. Ok as it is...
The constant moaning about the site and it's moderation is becoming a bit tedious. This site does not cost us anything to use and provides many with hours of entertainment each day.
I understand that this site wouldn't operate without the users so their opinion does count for something, but the constant moaning and whinging is getting out of hand.
I fully agree with joko on this one .... You have to remember that there are people here who want genuine answers to genuine questions ... (which is surely the purpose of the site?)
I agree in principle that this site is a question and answer site. But what I have never been able to comprehend is how some of the users think they police the site and think that they know best.
Maybe it is just me that appreciates this site for what it is.
Goodness gracious we are not renaming B&S chatterbank!
Just to give you some perspective, we received more complaints from users when we had CB than we do requests to resurrect it. Can't please everyone all of the time, eh?
And we do not ignore the requests of our users - we simply choose not to implement all of them.
Hello ed,
Does that potentially mean that if you received more requests by email to resurrect CB, you may look again at the situation? Or am i being optimistic and reading too much into your carefully chosen words?
i am not trying to police the site - just asking for answers to questions that lots of people have asked over and over again and get no reply - and again it seems i have not received a proper reply either.
just saying no and we aren't doing it doesn't answer the question and tells us nothing we didn't already know.
just thought perhaps that for once we could get a proper explanations as to the thought processes that frankly make little sense to many abers.
i asked specific questions, none of which were answered.
Kerplunk ... I was merely referring to a process for sending inane drivel over the internet ... sorry if I don't know what a chat site is, I've never been on one ... (until I found the B&S topic, I suppose?)
