Removed answers

I had an answer today which was removed. It only appeared twice, though no fault of my own, as it didn't go to the site the first time I pressed "submit" and was still sitting in the answer box so I pressed "submit" again and it then showed up twice.
The second one is marked "This answer is banned," but as I said it just didn't go the first time and then went twice. I actually didn't type it twice.

You may not have typed the answer twice but you did "submit" it twice.

If your computer is taking a long time to complete an action (be it in an application or sending data to a webpage) never succumb to the temptation of clicking a button to hurry it along. Only when there is definite evidence that the action has failed i.e. an error message is displayed, should you then attempt to go back and retry the action.

However it happened ontarioice, you are now a member of the 'i have had an answer banned' club and you will have to take your turn on the naughty step like everyone else, two such offenses and you move up to the detention step. Whiffey resides in the coal shed.

I did see the discussion last week, but thought that Shaneystar had done something different to what I did.
Kempie - No I didn't try to hurry my computer along. I waited for my answer to appear and others were appearing ahead of it so I went back into the answer box and it was still sitting there so I thought I perhaps hadn't hit the submit button, BUT it then appeared twice and was banned.
dot.hawke: Surely I don't have to go to the coal shed for a first offence. They usually let first offenders off with a rap on the knuckles and a warning.

My banned answer is still sitting there for all the world to see !
It's supposed to be in queue to be deleted .Must be a very long queue !
Yours must be way behind mine ontarioice so I suppose we had better rustle up some sandwiches and a bottle of pop while we wait .I'm afraid my gin supplies are sadly depleted !
My answer was still sitting in the box after I hit submit so I assumed there was a glitch on the site and resubmitted it.

Hi Shaneystar2: That's what I did, too, as other answers were appearing and mine wasn't so I thought I hadn't hit the submit button - you know the rest of the story.
I have some Gilbeys in the "medicine" cabinet if you feel you are about be overcome by the strain of waiting.
