So my last question was removed - not surprising I suppose but I would have thought one of the answers was worse than the question!

Off to do the crossword now - all by myself and with no help from AB!

Good ...hope you finish it ..if not you can always crib the answers from the brain dead pathetic nerds that you seem to think frequent the Quizzes and Puzzles section.

I wouldn't dream of it - I am fully able to accept my shortcomings and if this includes not knowing the answer to a crossword question then so be it.

I am a member on a dog quiz forum, and it turns out that some of the members have found a way to play twice, thereby getting top scores everyday when they play the second time - er, whats the point of that?

Anyway, its not the Quizzes and Puzzles section per se, its the Crossword subsection where they all hang out! Thats why I think it is the one subsection that should remain.

There are only 103 posts in the subsection as opposed to 43504 in the main section so I can't see where "they" are anyone for that matter is "hanging out ".
The majority of regulars on Q&P want it back how it was with just the one heading.As I said before on the question which was removed, for a lot of the regulars on there it's a point of contact for our older contributors and those that are housebound etc and get a lot of enjoyment out of this pastime.
I am quite sure if you were to partake on Q&P you would enjoy it .You choose not to and that's your privilege but don't slate off those who do.
I really do wish the editor had let your question stand so that everyone could see exactly what your shortcomings are.

I think you are missing my point totally. I have no quibble with people using the Q & P section, but why don't they try to find the answers to crosswords themselves, before asking on AB the same day they are published?

This also emphasises the point that subsections are totally useless, as not many use the crossword one - they still post under the main heading.

Yes people can find the answers themselves and to be honest a lot are repeat posts and Googling is easy and most people have a dictionary ..It's just a bit of fun for God's sake. Crosswords are so ephemeral they are done and forgotten about the next day.I don't see why people shouldn't ask for help....this is Answerbank after all said and done.
We have a little competition every week for link words in the Telegraph GK and I am forever grateful for the answer to that elusive cryptic clue .If you don't partake in Q&P then don't moan about it.Either that or post your gripes in the category itself and see what sort of response you get.
