Background Colours

I think people are going to start impersonating the Editor of the site if background colours are allowed, as I have seen in some posts on here recently.

Hiya Mags long time no see! :-)

Do what I did....Kerplunks reply up there ^^^, I copy and pasted it to notepad...and followed it word for word. To copy his text...put ya mouse at end of last word and right click three times, it will just highlight that bit of text. Ctrl C it, then Ctrl V it to notepad.

Forget the target bit, that is only required if you want to hyperlink. Just type:

a style="background: Red;color: White;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold; cursor: text;text-decoration: none;">TEXT HERE</a

Put a < before and put a > after

Well I copied and pasted it into notepad, but I still don't get what you do with it then. For example how did they make a Christmas Tree or write Happy Christmas with a coloured background. Hi Boo. This is just tooooooo complicated for me and I thought I was getting better with my computer. lol

awwww I am getting right peed off now. Have to get my grandson to have a go and explain it to me. I'll probably never use it but at least I will know I can do it.

maggie.... do exactly what kerplunk said - jut copy the bit in the middle and add in a < at the beginng and a > at the end.

Once you get that, you can play with the colours :)

No, don't give up, maggie!

Just double click on this and the whole thing will be hilighted. then go into the "post an answer" window and paste it. Then you can modify it.

Don't forget to add the < before the a at the beginning, and the a at the end, or it won't work.

The ed better take this away, or it will look insane on the whole site really soon, now that everyone knows how to do it! But this was fun, I have to admit!
