Would it be possible to indicate somehow which country in the world people live when they post a question. For example: In animals and nature sometimes there are questions from people in America who own a pit bull, or a wolf cross. It is perfectly legal to own these dogs in America, but if people think they live in Great Britain they tend not to answer the question (or try and tell the people the dogs are illegal). I would imagine questions in Law (and lots of other categories) can cause problems too.
I know this question was aired in 2005, the Ed then thought it was a good idea but nothing has happened.
Excellent idea- I know of one infamous AB moment where a user was asking about a type of flower they'd seen. Many posts later and after lengthy descriptions of said flower, it turned out the OP was from India!!!
Well surely the poster would say " I live in Texas or whatever" as I always try to point that my problem or whatever may be typically spanish, but someone still may have a solution. But then I was always on the bright side !!! :-P
crete - If you open up the links - you'll see what my point is/was. I was looking for some 'old' country of origin links, before I posted my sentiments to kita.
Have you any 'other' contributions towards this thread?
Okey dokey crete - although your wording didn't actually show that! Also, I wasn't looking for agreement - I only posted to let the new AB Ed know that this question had been asked before. ;o}
There's enough racism and bigotry on here already ...we don't need to make it easier for people to be (mis)judged by others because of where they are from.
