After careful consideration I along with the quite fabulous ray have decided to leave AB.

A pleasure for some no doubt but I have just checked my last 20 questions and for no reason whiffey, crete, lambert and battersby between them just seem to post sarcastic and or derogatory remarks.

I come on AB for some lighthearted relief and to give excellent answers on law and health/diet and particularly Bowie.

I am not hurt by these people, Christ I am better than all them put together, but there really is no delight in logging on anymore.

Well done folks. I fought the war on behalf of you peasants and won, but guess you have won this time.

I follow pickles and ray and wish all the decent ones a fond adieu.

I don't get it, you can choose to get involved in all the drama or not. If someone makes mean comments, and I am going to sound like a mum, it is best to ignore them. People make them to get a rise out of you. It is a question and answer site and people don't seem to use it for that anymore.

Wardy, I forbid you to leave! Believe it or not there are actually people on AB that like you and I am one of them. That's not to say that I agree with all you say, in fact sometimes it makes me cringe, but the responses absolutely crack me up. The most fun I ever had on AB was on one of your DB threads some time ago.

I'd still like to slap you, JohnLambert and whiffey round the mush with a wet, smelly sock sometimes (and crete), but besides all the silliness you all have good things to offer AB.

No crete, you don't but I was referring to when you join in with the conflict with the others mentioned. Please don't think I am on an antil crete (or anyone else for that matter) campaign as I'm not. As I say, you all make valuable contributions to AB.

What I meant was that sometimes you all go into battle with wardy and the wet sock thing was meant in jest.

It's all too easy to take the typed word at face value when it may be tongue-in-cheek. I meant no ill feeling and perhaps shouldn't have dropped your name in like I did. It was a little out of the blue I admit and only I really knew what I meant. I apologise for that. I am a nice person really....honest!

In WM's defence, and at risk of me setting myself up for the next free-for-all, his first post on a thread is admittedly usually contraversial. BUT he doesn't usually issue threats until he is subjected to personal insults and threats himself. I can't say that is categorically correct in every case having not the time or the inclination to read every post he's ever made, but that's the usual way it pans out.

I do make it clear however, that this does not translate into the fact that I defend all that he says. Diplomacy is not his strongpoint maybe but he can't start a war all by himself. It takes other people to make that happen. If they chose to do so then what do they really expect the consequences to be? It isn't just WM's contributions that make these threads degenerate into a trading of insults and threats.

This is why I am defending him. Because he can't create all that all on his own. Other people have to take some of the responsibility for that.

I am now annoyed at myself for being silly enough to stick my neck out (but not enough not to submit this as it is a valid opinion).

And Wardy, I apologise for hi-jacking your thread.
