Limit to number of threads.

I know i might well get attacked for this but i would just like to ask is their a limit to the number of threads that are put up by the same member? i cant see anything on the page bar a list of what i would perceive to be quite silly questions, i think it ruins it a bit for others, just a thought xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I assume by 'the page' you're referring to Body & Soul.

AB's system does temporarily ban anyone who makes an excessive number of posts in a very short period of time (which results in all of their posts disappearing from view) but I agree that it needs to be further refined to get rid of much of the rubbish which appears in B&S.

I'm not trying to be a killjoy but I sometimes wonder if the types of posts which are currently appearing deter people with genuine worries from posting in B&S.

For example, when first joined AB (about 15 months ago), I was able to assist several people (by directing them to relevant charities and support group websites) who had recently been diagnosed with serious medical conditions (or where they were concerned for a family member with such a condition). I'm sure that many of these people will have had to summon up a great deal of courage before posting their concerns on AB. I'm worried that such people might now take one look at the current content of that section and decide that they don't feel confident about posting serious questions there.

Chris is right, Bez and i have been sayinjg this for months, it is getting worse, i debated for ages as to whether it was worth me posting my thead about the up coming mamogram. I eventually decided I would ask for some advice and support and i am glad I did but it took alot for me to do that, as i don't tend to use B&S for personal issues myself.

Carla is right about the content of the posts lately, but i know alot of the garbage has gone now that there is the alternative site where it seems they can discuss their pervy and crude ways away from answerbank.

I agree with you nursecarla, and with other posters. But a lot of the rubbish gets posted at night or over the weekend when the site is unmoderated; so there's not much to be done about it until the next day or week.

I didn't know there was a pervy alternative site, Dot (I won't ask for the URL), but there are still one or two ABers it could take.

If i wanted to ask a serious health or similar question then i would go into the appropriate sub section which doesn't seem to attract the same sort of banter.

Dot, you really do think the you have a say in this site. I bet 'Justin & Tim' are bloody well sick of your emails. Most of the 'garbage' didn't really post many questions on here anyway and just joined in the banter. I get the impression that you do not like it when others are having fun that excludes you.
