wheres the positive feedback for the new sports section ed?

all i really need to know is, is it going back as it was ?

mrrobbo, this is the third thread you've started on this topic in the last couple of days. Give the Ed a chance! I for one quite like the new site, I agree there's too many subsections but I think, given time and a few modifications it will work.

i wont use it....only because its too sub sectiony......if you had a list of all the questions that you could browse, that would be fine.......

i can't find any positive feedback for the new sports section, and honestly think it's horrible! takes up the whole screen plus having to scroll across, often go into this section for answers to sports questions and to keep up with the latest for sports news, but am not going to bother if AB doesn't change it back, to much hassle !

Its rubbish it may look pretty but at the end of the day you just want to post yiour questiona nd read the answer without all the razamataz. Its too long winded having to log in again. If it aint broke don't fix it. That's my motto.

it does'nt matter how many threads mrrobbo has posted, it is still a rubbish site, the old one was better by far, we have to protest to ED and get it back to how it was, no amount of modification will make it work. the way it used to be was easy to see and easy to answer, i suggest that all AB users who dont like it , dont use it, that is the only way it will get back to how it was.

im with you mrrobbo..................... i dislike the layout of the new sports section, it gives me a headache just thinking about it.

but we have a problem here, the ABED doesnt listen to anyone regarding this site, they think we moan for no reason and they are no doubt just going to ignore the protest and carry on regardless!!

It's Crystal Guides' site and they can run it any way they choose. ABers don't pay subs or anything, so they don't have any 'right' to be obeyed. My guess would be the Ed's eyes just glaze over when presented with a list of people telling her how to do her job. Mine sure would.

hahaha- as always i'm with jno (well we once disagreed sometime in 1988, but we don't talk about it).

I also find it bizarre that theres this level of feeling about it all, some folks are getting really het up about it aren't they? I personally couldn't care less, mind you that might have something to do with the fact I never venture into the Sports section anyway.............

Bu thats the whole point BOO! The ones that ARE getting het up about the change are, in the main, those that use the Sport Category. I do not know which categories you DO go into but let us, for the sake of argument, say Animals and Nature - how would you feel if there was suddenly a completely new site for that category and it had twenty odd different categories/sub categories within it - a category for Cats say and then subcategories for Burmese, Siamese, etc etc - would you not feel annoyed?

Jno has his opinion but if the new site is not to users' taste it is not likely to be used, is it? And that would not please the owners of the site. A site can only be successful if it gets 'hits' and I am quite sure that Crystal Guides want as many 'hits' as possible - and so have to listen to those who use the site.

but they'll also be after new users, Town Crier, and they may have calculated that the new design will be more likely to attract them than the old one - in fact, that's almost certainly the big idea. I'd be surprised if they did it with the intention of deterring newcomers.

Well I don't use it either other than to look through, but it is possible they may try it with other topics too. I don't like it at all and would be horrified if they try it in Q&P or any of the other of the topics I use. So please Ed change it back.

i used to like the sports section, and yes i guess they can do as they please.....but i for one wont use it.

Just got back from 4 days away and found the new sports section.

It is awful!!!

I enjoyed browsing all the questions (even if some posted in the wrong category) but I can't be bothered looking at all the new sub-categories.

End of the sports section for me.

I'm 50-50 with it at the moment. I'm sure it will improve. If then then its a def thumbs down. The main thing i dont like is that is no link back to this site!!
