Why can't we have a seperate option to specify wheather we want to be contacted by email when our question is answered or not.
That would be easier for me.

by default, you should be notified. If you don't want to be, there should be a little box somewhere top right on the question that says 'Got an answer?' or similar: just tick it and you don't get any more emails.
