No Idea where to put this lol.....

I have just ordered a book from Amazon.
It is a French Book, a lipogram by Georges Perec La Disparition. I need it in French, not the English version.
The bookstore I have ordered it from said Livrenoir-uk, so I thought it was coming from a UK bookshop. It appears though, that it is coming from Brooklyn NY.... and they have just mailed me to say they have had problems locating it in their warehouse..... I think I'm finding it odd they would keep such rare books in a warehouse???

What would you make of that message?

I ordered in GBP not USD.... �40 for this particular book.

I'm after another book also in French.... $1000.00..... would they keep that in a warehouse too???

Truly intelligent ones..... what shall I do? before I part with any cash..... these are for gifts for a very dear person in my life......

I was looking for older copies. Rather than newer.
�40 was the cheapest one on Amazon of all places lol.... for a used copy.... and Abe books has older more expensive used copies too.
But!!! on abe books.... they have one for sale in France for??�93..... I'm confused...... :) do I buy new or old?

the book was written yonks ago (the English traslation is about 10 years old but the original from around 1970, I think) and I don't know whether it's been reprinted. It may be just rarity that keeps the price high; maybe the second-hand ones are tattered or written in. Hard to say. Depends on your friend, I guess

Yes. I always go for the highest. I'm still a little confused it was in Pounds and saying it was coming from the UK when it was coming from The States.
