Banned

It would be nice to know when a question is banned WHY it is banned. I know it would be difficult to go through every single one, but I posted a perfectly innocent question which is now banned- for no good reason that I can think of. This is one of the most infuriating things about AB. Perhaps a nicer word could be used "This question has been removed" perhaps. "Banned" infers you have sworn or been prejudiced, or posted a pointless chat question. It would be nice to occasionally get a reply to these suiggestions too- everyone else does- BBC etc.

Hi Scarlett , it could be if it was a duplicate , or if it got caught up in a banned thread . You will probably never find out why though :-)

I've said all along that they (Ed & Co) should have a drop down box similar to our reporting one, with options why a post is/was banned.

I agree it would be nice to know why, even if it's so we don't make the same mistake again.

Yep, I answered a question in news this morning and it has now gone and I would like to know why!

Oh, Scarlett, join the club. I posted roughly the same question about a garage door (how could Ed possibly object to that for goodness sake), in two categories because I wasn't sure where to post. I've seen other ABers do that without removal. I've also had what I considered helpful answers removed for no good reason. Really makes you angry, doesn't it?

It's the same with answers, that are not offensive etc.... for me they just disappear before they've arrived and I receive another notch on the answers removed bit.

Thinking about it tho, the speed at which this site sometimes runs it wouldn't surprise me if they popped up at some point in the future, having just been processed

However, i agree it would be better to know...
