How do I type bold or italics on here?

For italics, Theland, you precede the word or phrase with < I > , but without the spaces and then end the word or phrase with < / I > , again, without the spaces. For bold, same thing except substitute B for the I. Neither has to be capitalized, by the way. Thusly... your welcome, by the way

just to point out that in Clanad's post the letter is an eye (for italic) not an ell. Substitute b for bold or u for underscore.

Thank you all for your help. I haven't had a chance to practise yet, too busy defending myself against the threat of a ban on R & S, so I'll likely try this out tomorrow when I'm less stressed, if I'm still here that is.
