its sad that you didnt include the OTHER option in your poll...
you forgot to mention the locals... you didnt give the locals the right to have a house !!!
unless im mistaken, you have set a multiple choice question with all the answers you want, not the answers we MAY want to give !!!

I didn't answer it either..they should put an option for "OTHER"on these polls.

same goes for me...... how can you have a poll that doesnt include all the options ???

can you imagine an opinion poll at the elections

"and who may i ask did you vote for, Labour or the Raving loony party ?"

VERY BAD EDITOR !!!
i read all the answers again in case i'd missed one! Nope, no choice there for me!
The locals? ......from where exactly do they come? Local what? layabouts, chavs, immigrants ?

hello Dassie.

my my, that is a high horse youre sat upon isnt it ??
you obviously dont have NEIGHBOURS.... you know, familys that have been in the neighbourhood for generations... LOCALS !
Yes, I have neighbours but that's my whole point......to be neighbours, .they're already living in the next door houses and apartments

Oh.... and there's really no need to climb down my throat from your high horse with that sort of response is there ???
It should be a local poll for local people ~ nothing for anyone else here!
But Pippa, local to where ? Manchester, London, England, UK, Europe ????

i think its easy to work out if you stop being picky !!!
local is local !
any part of the world. if you live in a town and have done all your life, youre a local !
if you MOVE to a town, youre an outsider moving in !
So why do locals need to vote if they are already living there and accommodated? Not being picky but just asking a question based on your neighbours/locals response. They don't need the housing do they if they are living there, but nurses, police, etc coming to work at local establishments do.
So locals vote to keep the accommodation for themselves but as they already are living in the area ( being a local ) the houses stand empty ???

married couples tend to self perpetuate. they pro-create. they multiply. they have little rug rats that want to move out and start a family of their own...
where do they go if all the LOCAL housing has been given to the blue light brigade and imigrants ??
from MY point of view, local councils should serve the local people, not someone from half way around the world or give priority to someone because they have a certain job.
rural Britain is a prime example (i know for a fact Cornwall) where, if you are not a "local" you cant get council property !
why should we in the industrial part of the country be any different ?
I have the same problem wit the weather, Dassie.

When the forecast states 'locally heavy rain''

????
i know of a 'local' who asked to be moved from a 3 bed house to a 4 bed, she was put off for ages by the council, who said it needed work done to it.
Then she found it had been given to an immigrant family who had only just arrived in this country.
I agree funky, there must be quite a few other options. I would have ticked 'housing for the needy' if that option hadn't included 'or single parent families'. (single parent families aren't necessarily needy, so why should they be singled out for council housing).
