Suggest you utterly destroy this section of what otherwise in an excellent website. Suggest most of its users head for YouTube, MyFace or some other self-glorification site. Sorry to be harsh, but I was disgusted when I inadvertently looked at the section.

It might have its arguments but i would hate to lose it. Simple thing is...........................if it aint what you're looking for on this site, then stay out of there but leave the ones who chose to post on there to it.

Its not worth getting your knickers in a twist about it is it? Its by far the busiest section of the site and many people use it daily. What particularly about CB has annoyed you?

100% with bednobs. I enjoy CB and I like a bit of a prattle but there is some utter rubbish as well in CB that if you don't keep will end up elsewhereon the site. Before CB came a lot of it was in B&S and it doesn't seem fair that genuine questions in there should be pushed to the back because myself and others prattle on. Or because the poo filter which CB serves as has been removed.

I think of Chatterbank as an asylum that can be easily avoided.

Closing it would encourage infections to attack other threads

I dunno about getting rid - I'm sure it has it's uses and I have used it a few times when I am in the mood. However I do rarely visit it - seems to be full of too many inane posts and abusive comments. Shame we can't have a facility like on IMDb where you can ignore posts from blocked users.

Some of what goes on in CB can be nasty and downright disgusting at times but the answer is to take no notice. It serves a purpose and the majority who post on there are nice people who just want a chat and a laugh. There is opportunity to be serious in the other sections.

I don't usually jump on the bandwagon when people criticise CB but I'm a bit....no not a bit, a lot....offended by gardenknowin appointing themself judge and jury, AND in such a condescending way to be honest.

Who is one person to decide that something should be 'utterly destroyed' just because they don't like it? To me that is the epitome of arrogance...'I don't approve, therefore no-one else must have it.'

If you hated marmite would you campaign for it to be banished? Or would you just not use it yourself?

There are hundreds of users of CB. Just because there may be a handful of less desirable personas on there doesn't mean 'most of it's users' (me being one of them by the way) can be tarred with the same brush.

Say what you like in reply to me, but if you've any sense of logic, you'll know that I'm right. My turn to be arrogant huh?

why in the world do you want this section to be destroyed? simple solution, no one is forcing your hands or eyes. ignore it if it ain't your cup o' tea. doh!

and by the way, this section is called AB Suggestions.

I think Chatterbank is the biggest waste of bandwidth and storage space, but that is my personal opinion and if it brings joy to peoples lives then i guess it should be considered worthy of keeping.

I certainly wouldnt like to see the back of it tho, simply because although i dont like it and think its either crap ramblings or hostile posting for 80% in there, it does keep it all from infecting other sections of the site and gives somewhere for this insanity to breed without needing to go in there if you want to keep sanatised!!

I'm not a great fan of CB (although I occasionally post there).

I certainly wouldn't mind if it was possible to get rid of it altogether, Unfortunately, it's not. The last time it was closed down, all that happened was that all of the idiots moved into 'Body & Soul'. That resulted in hardly anyone posting 'proper' questions in B&S. Even if they did, the type of people who post serious answers stopped going there, so B&S no longer fulfilled its original purpose.

At least CB keeps all of the idiots in their own little space.

If its not to your taste then dont visit it, I like chatterbank and in fairness chatterbank serves a useful purpose in ridding other topic area's of inane postings.

If chatterbank did not exist then all the other areas would eventually experience a higher level of rubbish and abusive postings.
