How useful does everyone find it having an email telling that someone has replied? I''m probably in the minority here but it drives me mad checking my hotmail to find like 20 emails when i've checked my questions anyway... maybe a 'don not send me emails to tell me my question is answered' box that people could tick if they don't want them?

You could always click on the "If you feel that your question has been answered fully and do not wish for any further responses" button. People can still post but you won't be told.
actually, I like to get the emails
Someone might answer one of your questions long after it's disappeared and you've forgotten about it. If you opt for no email notification, you'd never see that answer, unless you religiously keep a check of all your old Qs. I had a reply recently to one of my Qs from months and months ago!
I love having the emails, my memory is like a sieve.......:-))
As theWillow says there is a button already for this. When you go in to check the answers to your question the "If you feel that your question has been answered fully and do not wish for any further responses" button is just to the right of your question.

I'm still relatively new to the Answerbank and didn't know where this button was at first. I had to find it out by accident. Hope this helps.

Agree with you becks. I hate the emails too. But lucky I have them sent to one of those dummy emails reserved for signing up to sites, competitions etc.!
