Criticizing islam

Is part of the AB Ed team muslim? Is that why people that criticize islam on AB are so harshly dealt with?
In this country my forefathers fought hard against ruthless enemies to uphold our right to speak freely against things which we did not believe in or thought immoral.
Can we have a new 'jihad' section?

It depends on your perspective.
I think the users of this site reflect the views of wider society. That there is a degree of islamophobia, ie unrealistic hatred and fear, then there is a section of the community that whilst not supporting it as a religion, object to the way the fear and dislike of the religion are conflated with the fear of Muslims and finally there is, as there is in Britain a minority who support the religion.
What is the harsh treatment you speak of? On a post in R and S, Wizard posted a deliberately aggressive and anti Muslim and poster specific thread and the only sanction appears to be that some other posters have condemned (rightly) his threats of violence. RGeezer who boast of his support of BNP (overtly racist organisation), deliberately posts threads that are anti Muslim, and again apart from others posting their views there is no sanctions whatsoever
