Don't accept special symbols in usernames

Recently, certain people have been making duplicate usernames using html codes purely to disrupt the look of the site. Can I suggest:

A) you delete all these users
B) you change the submission code not to allow any symbols apart from A-Z 0-9 and certain punctuation btut certainly not < and > symbols!

ZebUK, even if there is no pre-existing function this sort of check takes as much as 2 whole minutes to code from scratch.

I agree with squarebear, and also stop letting people use < and > in answer boxes, ok so people couldn't use bold etc but that would be a small price to pay to get rid of the idiot(s) that is(are) inserting null values into answers at the moment.
