Hi AB editor, About a quarter of the time I post a response, it doesn't get through. I get an error message and can't get my reply posted. This is frustrating as I spend a considerable amount of time trying to write a thoughtful answer, and then I can't get it on to the site. Any way that problem can be fixed? It's frustrating enough that I'm starting to not want to post answers anymore.

I keep having the same problem, it's been driving me potty too!
Ditto I copy my answers first (highlight, ctrl + c) so that I can try again (highlight, ctrl + v) Usually works 2nd or 3rd time. However, it's very annoying when it keeps happening.

I have been trying to post one particular message for the last 2 hours (I learned my lesson, and copied it to a document before trying to send the first time). I really would like to have it posted and I'm really frustrated that it hasn't been.

... update... I just posted my answer in pieces and it got through. I wasn't aware that there is a length limit, but that's what it seems like. So folks, if you can't post, try making it shorter or breaking it into pieces!
zgma - yes, there is a limit on the length of postings.

You also apprear to have had problems spotting the fact that, on popular threads, only the first 20 answers appear on the first page: look for the link that takes you to the rest of the answers.

No, I spotted that.
This happens with short answers as well. In fact I tried to post this about three times earlier on and gave up. Also, I do know about the link to the next 20 questions.
The problem with the 2000 character limit is that if an answer exceeds 2000 characters, then it just deletes the whole thing rather than giving a warning, or giving the person a chance to edit it down a bit. We should not have to remember to copy and paste it each time just on the off-chance that it might be too long.
