An over-18's section?
32 Answers
Ed, don't know if this can be done - but how about a section for the over-18's? I don't mean for posting any porno-type stuff, just perhaps adult jokes and banter that's not suitable for children.
Perhaps have a section where you have to click to declare that you are over 18 to access it - like you can find on t'internet now (ooooerrrr, not that I've visited a site like that, Ed, honest!!!! - it's just what I've been told!)

That user is still a member of this site for some strange reason which is why I no longer even mention this place to friends, family and work colleagues as a useful information site.
Ethel, the site would still be the same - Q & A's. The reason I ask, is because yesterday I posted about a man's "dangly bits" - not offensive to me, but it did occur to me that, as some children visit this site, it could be considered an unsuitable thing to post.
It hasn't been banned, so I presume it is considered okay - but I would have been happier if it had been in a "grown-ups" section.
I don't for one minute suggest porn or near-the-knuckle stuff. Hope you know what I mean. Perhaps the expression "Grown-ups section" might be more appropriate.

Ethel, I'm not trying to change yer mind, lass, or anyone else's for that matter. Just wondering what y'all thought about the suggestion. |:o)
BTW, I wasn't thinking along the lines of the sex-chat lines, or anything sleazy! And if the kids want to see that sort of thing, sadly they have very easy access to it anyway - if the kids in my family are anything to go by. I know you can get some sort of blocks to stop them accessing iffy sites, but in practice, I wonder how many parents actually put them in place.

gen2, replace the words "Adults Section" with "Grown-ups Section". "Adults Section" brings unsavoury thoughts to mind (ya know what I mean).
I personally feel Chatterbank , even as it is now, is suitable for adults only. I know there is a swear filter, but be honest, even when it works, folk can get round it. And there are plenty of double entendres, which I am guilty of as much as most, which IMO, are best not seen by children.
Another example is a post today, entitled "Is Legend getting his hole?" Now this isn't exactly porn, and we're grown-up enough to make light of it - but it's not really suitable for children to read, is it?
So I guess what I am really saying is - let's have Chatterbank for grown-ups only. But as I have said, I don't know if it could be done.
