I have already emaiked other comments ... but, accept that any reply is caught up in the log-jam that is AB Towers

Re Ed chats -

Seem to have started off with the friendly banter approach .... sounds like confidence building (just heard Tweedledee and Tweedledum doing the same on TV)

Is this way of approaching Abers a carefully thought through plan ..... surely not, if real considered comment is being sought .... unless it is that only social banter is being sought

Will Ed chats be matured forward to tackle AB the many problems and strife, soon? ........

How do abers know ....

When an Ed chat is going to happen?

In which section (I have seen Ed chats in chatterbank, AB Suggestions, Editor's Blog etc!)

Why should paricipation be left to pot-luck .... as to whether you happen to be on the site when the Ed 'comes on' or not?

Why not flag up a Topic or two that you want to hear views upon - and, then come onto the site at a given time? (You could zap anyone who fools around in the thread?

Let Abers be open amongst themselves as to what they think and where they want the site to go ..... a more 'honest' approach than emails to the Ed? There may be a surprising degree of consensus!

I don't buy into Hi Guys - How are we all today? appearing on AB Suggestions .... if it must be the way, surely chatterbank is the place to go :-)

Well, I for one think that the Ed's chats are a great idea and a very quick and easy way to get points over in a friendly manner.

And I think they should stay on Suggestions because lots of us rarely use Chatterbank and Chatterbank threads disappear down the pages at a very swift rate. If I remember the Ed. did post when he was going to have the last 'Ed's Chat', but he posted it in Chatterbank!

Better to stick to one section and as most of the Ed's chats are concerning AB user's suggestions surely this is theappropriate section. And if people fool around in the thread a bit, does it really matter - light hearted banter adds to this site.

I agree here ED.
You should warn people of your intentions, if 'warn' is the right description here.

Let people know in advance when you will be making an appearence, so we can come fully prepared witht the questions we want to ask.
I agree too ..... consider the broader membership (often called the silent majority) and not just the activists.
me too ....

why hasn't the Ed picked on this thread to respond to / start a chat on?

sure 'taize's' comment was a critique, albeit reasonable and polite stated .... but, I hope the new Ed is not going to hide?

it must be relevant for the Ed to respond too ....... worrying, if no response is forthcoming.
kjc and shawnee - - - the Ed says he will be back here at 4p.m. on Monday - that's your chance to get your questions ready.
