Is it possible to arrange my settings so that I don't automatically receive notification of replies to my posts?

I don't think you can change your settings once and for all regarding notifications but you can abort them for each question individually, here. (You have to be logged in for that box to appear, of course.)

Sorry to interrupt this banter with a serious reply to jason.p's question.

One way to stop getting emails from AB is to change the email address on your profile to one you rarely use, or create a new address that you use only for AB, or maybe even give a made up / old email address.

Thanks Factor30. At last a sensible answer, I was beginning to wonder what was going on!!
I'll change my address to my Hotmail account, which I rarely use.
*ahem*
Swedeheart- what happened here was that in between your posting and mine there were half a dozen totally irrelevant postings in which some AB users (the usual culprits, often seen on Chatterbank) decided to rais esome old grievances with each other and slagged each other off. It looks as if the AB ed has subsequently deleted all these, leaving the only 2 sesnsible answers which were ours.
Thanks factor :-)
(Actually I knew that - so I wasn't thinking your banter-remark referred to me.)
