can anyone tell the meaning of the numbers on the side of a lifboat eg:the numbers on the side of the rhyl lifeboat are 12-24.....

It's a 12 metre boat .And the 24th of her class to be built if this is the Mersey Class Lifeboat the Lil Cunningham .
