This is a genuine innocent question - what kind of things do you get banned for and how do you know you have been banned?

I can remember Octavius being a bit argumentative at times. He must have upset someone to get banned. Dont most people just change their names and get back on after being exiled?

He seemed to disappear in the initial 'shake-up'........and whereas others experiencing similar came back, perhaps he took the opportunity to cut the cord and regain his freedom.............?

Androcles....you get banned for being abusive or bullying.

When you get banned you can still sign in but when you post an answer they don't appear. It can take some time to realise that though. All that wasted typing.

You use to also get an auto ban for over posting...but that was only a temp ban.

Octavius should have been 'unbanned' ages ago... He's a lovely fella and he's just busy. I'll pass on that he's been asked after... I keep telling the dopey s0d he should come back as he's missed.

grasscarp.....I have always been ummmm or a variation of it. The banning system was a bit different years back. We use to get temp bans if people reported you. So I had ummmm1, ummmm2 and yummmmy. I haven't tried these names in a few years so I don't know if they're still active.

Oh I see ummmmm. There are some very hostile people on this website. I nearly stopped coming on here at one time as I got some unnecessary comments when I was not being controversial at all. The anonymity brings out the worst in some people.

Octavious was Never banned! Not for very long at least!

I recently emailed Octavious to invite him to do some beta testing. His response was not one which will be enjoyed by those posting on this thread! He asked me to close his account. Unless anyone wants to visit him in person and force him back to AB I think we're out of luck!
