Instead of renewing my passport which costs more to renew then an identity card where can I find out
how to apply for it?

and where were you thinking of travelling to on your ID card alone....

maybe didappointed will be disappointed to learn he couldn't travel on an ID card but maybe he is fed up of taking his passport to the offie for his cigs every night, or in his back pocket when he is out on the razzle, he's right, it's a pain to carry around and if he loses it he's snookered.

As craft and dot so rightly point out,an ID Card is JUST that,an ID Card.
It is NOT (as yet) a replacement for a full 10 year Passport.
