Yep - The - - - - - - - - - - - - - - need to go!! -Can't the white background be changed to something more mellow?

White background is known to be hard on the eyes.  Some people have really great difficulty in reading text on bright white backgrounds.  A softer shade would be very much appreciated.

I agree with you Linzi - it's really doing my eyes & head in now! I've worked on many systems, but this takes the biscuit. It's far too bright AB Ed, please could it be toned down? Pleeeeeeeaze!
