just curious really...dont really care but

why are these two things listed as one catagory? they are not remotely similar or thte same thing

all the other catagories with 2 words are linked and very similar...people and places arent anywhere near the same

Presumably you have never encountered the phrase "People and Places" outside of this website despite its widespread usage in combining human and geographical or environmental elements (e.g. what's the use in knowing about Queen Elizabeth I without considering Tudor England and vice versa).

Demographics (including the Census) would not exist without it...

...and it is a handy phrase for a Topic subcategory.

But since you don't really care I won't bother typing out this reply.

no i wish you hadnt bothered...because its nonsense and confrontational and you know it...

the two things are different enough to warrant separate catagories on here...to claim they are more or less the same thing is ludicrous...
ABerrant's answer is a little cutting - but probably the reasoning behind the original choice of phrase.

A different questions:

Which categories would you push together to form larger umbrella categories? (Like Body & Soul, Society & Culture etc)

Hi Ed... I think pretty much all the other catagories make sense and are well linked.

as i said I dont really have any issue, i just wondered why you would list them as the same thing rather than 2 separate subtopics...as although they do indeed have the link aberant mentions, thats only a very small part of the subject as a whole.

there is so much more to a person than their location or where theyre from, and so much more to a place than the people who live there...
Just ask in CB - you get a wider audience.
