"Preview" function

Assuming this may not have been discussed before, how easy would it be to impliment a "preview post" function before submitting ?
The reason I suggest this is to give posters the option to review what they are about to post before submitting.
That way, it might give hot-headed posters (and I include myself in that) an "are you sure you really want to post that" moment.

Naah, although obligatory use of the search bar should be enforced.

:-))
This has been asked many, many times before. Perhaps one day...
... that wasn't aimed at the OP, btw.

I did - oh dear, have I missed an obvious ?
It's good to jog the memory, this way things won't be forgotten. :-)
O yes please :)

That facility used to be available. I don't know why they did away with it.
mrs.chappie is correct; there was such a facility. However, doc is also right in what he has said.

Ron.
If I remember correctly, you saw your whole post, in situ within the thread. It was much better than what you see in the 'Submit' box, which is of course limited to space.
I agree. I've only been a member for a couple of years and it was available when I joined so can't have gone that long ago (the first big upgrade maybe).
I know it's not logical but I could always pick up on typos in the preview box much more easily.
If you view the (vastly outdated) 'Tutorial' page you will encounter instructions on how to use a number of now defunct functions (Preview, HTML Tags, Rate this Answer, etc., etc.)

mrs.c......Your memory is better than mine......but,now that you've mentioned about the whole post being displayed within the actual thread before it being submitted, I am able to appreciate the views of yourself and prudie. Perhaps there is a case for it being re-instated.

I also appreciated having the preview option. It seems some good functions were lost in the 'great upgrade' of a year ago, with no new things added. An edit function would also be useful...other sites have it.

Aberrant - not quite what I meant. My idea is that there is a *compulsory* preview of a person's post before they then hit "submit".

For example, there is a 'Preview' button at the bottom of the post box which then turns into a 'Submit' button - maybe with a minimum "thinking time" of 10 seconds before it allows the poster to actually submit.
I know what you mean AP, you get it on other sites - it would make me more aware of typos and stupidos before I post.
I make up my posts the day before and have a final check before submitting. I avoid trouble that way.
very sensible, Authentic, and quite prescient considering you wrote it on Sunday afternoon.
Thanks, jno. Dont see why others can't do the same.
