Your pathetic attempts to draw me into your "imposters" game will not work.

Before you started all this nonsense I thought this site was worth contributing to.  Now that people like you have decided to spoil the site's original intention (to provide answers) it is no longer worth bothering with.

To all those who appreciated my answers I am glad I was of help.

I do not know the history of this particular matter, but this is by no means the first time that a contributor (some very good ones too) has been driven off the site by the conduct of others. The best suggestiopn to date has been that a facility should be created which would enable users to view past names used by other users a la Ebay. A more rigorous editing policy would also help. Please take heed AB Editor, or your site will deteriorate into something less than useful

I suggested this only a few days ago Plain-Jane in this Category under the heading of User Names.  Unfortunately, the Editor doesn't seem to want to give any feedback to us about our suggestions.

Ursula62.  We all know that you only post under this user name.  Please continue to post your very helpful questions and answers.

I have also made a comment regarding this on the 'Sheep in the Garden' thread.  I am really sorry you have been brought into this.

Hi ursula62 - I for one, have never thought of you as an imposter! You have always posted good Q/A on this site & been very helpful to others.

I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of other peoples accusations/jokes & it is not at all funny. I'm just glad there are other users on AB who can identify me as smudge & smudge alone! Chin up & soldier on - like I am!

precisely, i know that i'm one of the younger members who contributes answers as well as questions on here, (i'm 17) and i think that the behaviour of some of the users is pretty damn pathetic, it'd be nice if some of these users could at least act like their age has 2 figures to it!

Adult in name only. It's a safety feature just in case. A number of our members have chidren and are not worried as they sometimes become involved.

I would also add that we are the child of Answerbook that was deleted by yahoo a few weeks ago for no reason whatsoever.

I've been reading and watching with interest and a degree of dismay, all the threads that involve the 'imposter' issue.
It has now got totally out of hand and it is about time the AB Editorial staff did something about it.

I suggest (and have written to the Ed on the matter) that

1) the facility for changing user names is withdrawn as it is grossly abused by some users.

2) a system is put in place to stop all the similar 'psuedo' , identical, or abusive names being created.

3) a system is put in place whereby all users can see who has changed their name and how often.

It is really sad that these suggestions have to be made to protect genuine users, because a minority of childish users, who appear to have nothing better to do with their lives apart from winding up and abusing other users of the site.

Perhaps these ides will go some way to correcting a situation that shouldn't have been allowed to develope in the first place.
Editing out threads/questions/answers is one thing, but to ignore all the recent mudslinging etc is another and should have been dealt with as a priority, leaving the 'victims' alone and ejecting the troublemakers swiftly.

Lindy Loo - I have written to the old AB Ed & the new AB Ed, with the same comments yourself. I have never received a satisfactory reply from either.
