Not a question but some information for fans. The Culture Show on BBC2 at 10.00 this evening includes an interview with the writer about the first film involving his hero, Jack Reacher.
I did read some time ago that they were thinking of Tom Cruise for the role of Jack Reacher. As Jack Reacher is supposed to be about 6' 5" tall and built like the proverbial, how they could consider Tom Cruise I really don't know. Perhaps there's been a rethink. I certainly hope so, but we shall see no doubt.
I saw the trailer a few days ago and Tom Cruise looked totally miscast. Perhaps they will have to have him stand on a box in all shots, or employ very very very short fellow actors. Its a great shame as I have not heard one positive comment about Tom Cruise being cast. It will be interesting to hear if Lee Child had any say in the matter.
Thanks for the heads up QM. As others have said. Tom Cruise can never be Jack Reacher in my mind and I don't fancy seeing the film either, like you rowanwitch.
Obviously, I have no idea how many of you actually watched the programme, but it was interesting to note that Lee Child declared himself perfectly happy with the choice of Tom Cruise as star. What it really required was a 'believable' Arnie Schwarzenegger type actor, in my view...but are there any?
after looking at the trailer think that tidley tom had a body double! No desire to see him in the movie. I watched Person of interest on tv and thought it a very similar role to that of Jack Reacher the guy who starred in that was a good choice for the role .
