Actor Capable Of Representing Jack Reacher

I have read reviews of the Tom Cruise attempt at portraying Jack Reacher and they have not been in favour – with which I heartily concur. Then yesterday I saw a picture of Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables in the Daily Mail and thought that he would be able to play the part far better. He is almost as tall as Reacher and almost as bulky so that we could believe in the portrayal. Sorry I do not know how to link to the picture – perhaps a cleverer person will be able to help. Anyone agree with me?

Hugh's 6'2, isn't Reacher 6'5? The man hostage and I were discussing this (in rather a lot of depth one night which involved a serious amount of research in to the heights of actors... true story...) and we came up with this fella:

Ralf Moeller in case you're wondering. Right height, built like the poverbial brick house (ex bodybuilder) and he was the big fella in Gladiator so not like he isn't known.

If you put Jack Reacher in the search box lots of threads come up .Hugh Jackman was my choice .
How they ever picked Tom Cruise is beyond me .

It doesn't suprise me shaney, that they picked Cruise... It massively suprised me that the author signed off on it though, I'd have been furious. And I don't even like the books that much (having read a few).

John Cusack is 6ft 3inches and he has matured well, he's my contender, but now cruise has another franchise he'll make more, or take his money home. it's just another mission impossible to him.

Hugh Jackman is rather fanciable as Reacher, but I have to say that China's choice seems better, although I wanted him to be better looking. Tom Cruise (or mini-cruise) was good in the Mission films and didn't look too weeny, but it seems bad casting for Reacher. Just as Stephen Tomkinson playing Banks is a travesty.

Oh he's awful as Inspector Banks AYG.
So wooden .Not my idea of Banks at all .I watched about ten minutes of the first one and that was too much .

Dare I say it but I have a sneaky suspicion he's been paid off to let Tom mini Cruise get the part. How could he build a mountain of a character like that and allow a midget to play him?
