I loved the books, and I thought the ending was spot on. For J K Rowling to now say that she thought that Ron and Hermione should not have got together smacks to me of the desperate ramblings of someone who has been out of the public eye for too long. Ron and Hermione HAVE been happy together - obviously a case of opposites attracting - as they were still together 19...
Hmm, good point! On the other hand even the idea of Dumbledore being a (celibate) homosexual has turned a few fans off. Two separate gay romances and the books would surely have never got off the ground!
My old neighbour down the road denounced the books as inspiring witchcraft. He'd surely have a fit if Harry and Ron and Hermione and Ginny got together! Hmm... there's a thought for some fan fiction. Bet it's been done already though.

Ron and Hermione HAVE been happy together - obviously a case of opposites attracting - as they were still together 19 years after the story ended. And don't forget that Hermione in the book was not a beautiful girl (unlike the actress who played her in the film) but rather a plain girl with buck teeth and lots of bushy hair. I think that for her to finish up with Ron was perfect. I loved the whole series of books and have read them all several times.
Not interested in reading the books but I have seen the films and they're fun. I think Hermione and Ron was just right, he needs straightening out and she needs relaxing, they complement each other :c)
