I stick with paperbacks and find them most practical. They go anywhere, you can read them sitting up, lying down, on the bus or in the garden and they dont mind when you fall asleep on them!
Audio is good for me for a long car journey, otherwise I dont seem to have time to listen to a whole novel, but its really appealing. When I retire I will investigate audio I think.

I've never been able to get into audio books. The speaker doesn't read as I would like it. I tend to read quickly so become impatient when I can't get the whole sentence in one look. Also, I like to slow down and reread a particularly well-written part.
I love 'real' books, but buy mostly on my Kindle now to save space in the house.

I've got a Kindle (The original version with the buttons for turning the page) and I'm re-reading a Trilogy (Of sorts)
The Book of Ultimate Truths / Raiders of the Lost Car Park / The Most Amazing Man Who Ever Lived by Robert Rankin. He's very funny, and a similar writing style to Terry Pratchett (In fact, he gives a nod to TP in The Book of Ultimate Truths...
Quote: "It is said that that the impossibly prolific Master of Horror, Stephen King, has a Biro surgically grafted to his right hand. Others (other than myself, of course) whisper that Terry Pratchett is half-man, half-Biro.
Think on!End quote.
I've just finished The Time Machine / The Invisible Man & The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells (Free in the Kindle store - Amazon Classics section. There's loads to choose from).
I also have a Book at bedtime and I'm re-reading about Bill Hicks (American Scream: The Bill Hicks Story / Love all the People: Letters, Lyrics & Routines and Agent of Evolution), an American Comedian who died in 1994. Hated in America, but loved in the UK.

Ive never been particularly tempted by audio books, probably for the same reasons as cloverjo. Its like a loss of control over how I read.
I buy mostly for my kindle paperwhite. I can read it anywhere, carry it anywhere, and it weighs nothing. I also have 100s of books at my fingertips.
I'm currently wading through Phil Rickmans Merrily Watkins series. I've also got a number of books about health/nutrition to tackle, and a LOT of literary novels.
Things like cookbooks or anything illustrated is bought as a proper book.

Definitely books. Would certainly get a kindle and use audio books if I got problems with my eyes, which a lot of my friends have. Like books with larger print if possible, but I will still read small print books. Just read The Dust That Falls From Dreams by Louis de Bernieres. I loved the first half, but found the second half less enjoyable.
