Author Help, Please

The title is 'Once Upon a Birthday' and was a much loved book of fairy stories from my 1950's childhood.

It was on an ebay auction about month ago, I wrote down the author's name. but have now lost it, so would be really grateful if anyone could supply the missing name of the author.Thank you.
