It is indeed Joyce Lankester Brisley and it is still in print. ISBN: 1-903252-10-5.
The publisher is Jane Nissen. They publish very few books but have done a fantastic job of keepign some amazing old books alive such as Mistress Masham's Repose and Mr Friend Mr. Leakey.
The website is under construction but is still worth a look. http://janenissenbooks.com/
Hi Inklequeen,
I have just seen this question and I have just asked a question, which I wondering is this book.
Does the girl go to visit godmother and have to play the piano, and the walls disappear and she can see a beautiful garden?
Thanks
