4 Answers
I have read a few of the books in the series (im on wizard and glass atm) but cant seem to understand the point of this series of books. Everyone says they are his greatest and i think they are quite good, but why are they so wierd?? Maybe it will make sense when i read them all but atm it is all so odd.

He wrote these books about 20 years ago but only just recently published them. I am gathering by what I have read so far that he has to travel through different worlds saving and killing people to get to the dark tower. It seems to be parallel universes as with the child Jake, he was killed and bought to another place where he carried on living. I have only read the first 2 books so I am having a break before I read the others. But I think there good. I must admit they are slightly different to what King normally writes about but seems to make it all the more enticing.
i am just waiting to start the last book in the series. i thought the first 2 or 3 (cant exactly recall, im not at home to check), were brilliant - the first book being the best id read in a long time. king had a looong break from writing the story, in the middle of the series - and i think it shows in the later books. they are still good, but have no-where near the soul and originality of the earlier ones.
