Anyone know any books set in Vienna? Any genre: historical, thriller, memoir etc.
I'm staying in Vienna for a few days in April and would like to get a flavour of it. Thanks.

The Third Man by Graham Greene set in Vienna shortly after the war
A lot of Helen MacInnes's spy thrillers are set - at least partly - in Vienna. I can't remember which ones in particular but a quick glance at the dust jacket will tell you all you need to know.
Likewise, Daniel Silva's thrillers
& Vienna Prelude by Bodie Thoene

Thanks paddywak and kettledrum. Great suggestions. I'd forgotten about The Third Man. The others are new to me but look interesting.
Frank Tallis' two Liebermann novels - "Mortal Mischief" and "Vienna Blood" are both set in Vienna around 1900.

They are thriller/detective stories, quite fun and good holiday reading
The hugely overlooked Austrian author, Robert Musil, is available in translation now. His great work, 'A Man without Qualities' is worth a look. It's a big book though, so you may have to save it for when you get back.
