Read a long time ago one book but was a series need to know who wrote it and what called

What I remember is that there was a wall that separated the cold area up noth from the south, and a group of men who maintained the wall to keep out the giants and such. It was set as if in the dark ages, knights, swords and such. There was a queen who has lost everything and then took over a city of slaves and used them to attack, and there were dragons, three of them.
