Not a question, but isn't it great when you find an author you haven't read before and you really enjoy his book? I have just found Bryce Courtenay!!

Haven't heard of him, what sort of books are they?
Have just 'amazoned' him - am going to strt with Tandia and Jessica I think. I do remember seeing the film The Power of One written by this author - very good, although apparently the film was quite different frm the book.
Absolutely, especially when you discover them by chance. It's how I discovered crime writer Jim Kelly. I was having to return a damaged book to the supplier, got to reading the jacket blurb and then ended up placing a reservation on the title. I've since read all his Philip Dryden books and eagerly await his new series.

mxyzptlk - have only part-read the Power of One, but his books are set in Africa or Australia. Wikapaedia can give you more details of all his books (can't wait to get started on the next one, but as I'm in the middle of moving, it will have to wait a little while!).

sallabananas - Tandia is the middle book of a trilogy: Power of One, Tandia and Solomon's Song.

saxy_jag - yes, by chance I found the first book in a charity shop. Courtenay's books seem to be quite hard to get hold of and some are quite expensive to buy new. So the hunt goes on!

Another author I've found in the last couple of months is Nelson DeMille - a crime/thriller writer, most of his books are set in New York. He's one of these authors that once you start a book of his, you can't put it down (well I couldn't anyway!).
