I've never read the book and wonder if the TV adaptation is sticking fairly closely to the story so far?

The author of the current script, Andrew Davies, explained on this morning's breafast TV that he had to change the order of the story, but had remained as true to the original plot as he could. Apparently Amy Dorrit doesn't appear until page 70 of the book, which would be a little difficult for today's TV audiences !!

It is a later book
and apparently so much of the plot is explained in direct speech of the various characters

that it is one of the easier to ones to adapt
