Author of Sardonicus
2 Answers
Who was the original author? As I have read a version in a very old book, which I assume to be the original, and more recently a version by an American with the same title, same plot, but with slight alterations to the wording. I am wondering if this is plagiarism. Any comments would be appreciated.

THis does say the original was published in Playboy, or were you thinking it went a lot further back?

Thank you Rosetta. Unfortunately this was not the one, the original was much older, early 1900's I think. The American one was somewhere around the 1950s which I think was under the title 'The Copper Bowl'. This copper bowl was the central theme of the original Sardonicus. Thank you for trying to help. I'll keep searching, it must be out there somewhere. I was quite shocked when I read the american version, as the plot was identical, just the wording slightly changed. Schutz.
