trying to find a book without title or author

I read a horror book more than 5 years ago and I can't remember the title or the author. The main character was a teacher. The main adversary was the trickester, coyote. It was based in the current period. Except for the main character, the rest of the characters were native american indians. Plot: One of his female students is offered up to the trickester coyote as a wife even though she has a boyfriend by her father. Coyote turns her into a savage creature killing most of the other characters. The teacher has to find a solution. PLEASE HELP ME FIND THE BOOK.

Possibly "Tooth and Claw" by Graham Masterton, the second in the "Rook" series. I've read a lot of Masterton's books, but none of this series.
