I'm going to be housebound for the next few weeks........and can read without interruption, or guilt, or expectation that I ought to be doing 'something else'.

So, I shall be heading off to Waterstones soon.

Can you provide me with a list of books I ought to consider buying ?
A brief synopsis would also be useful.

Thankyou, matey-peeps :o)

They still sell Mills and Boon in places like WHSmith.

M&B must have made quite a lot of money from romantic fiction.
yes, there are hundreds of books, I dont understand the attraction, I find them a bit syrupy but plenty of people seem to make a stampede for them
I'm reading the snowman by jo nesbo, it's hard going cos they've promoted it as the new steg larssen but it's abit more disjointed than even his stuff.

I think it's the comfort of a "familiar formula" cazzz.

now if only the library would come to my house and pick up the books just before they are due back, that would be FAB
sorry, I'll try that link again.

Libraries have allsorts these days - books, cds, videos/dvds, computer access, classes. You can reserve and renew items and book computer places online as well as there being shed loads of information on just about everything, free bags for dog waste, childrens activities - we even have a weekly baby clinic and packs with special bookbags and nursery books to give out to children. There are language courses to borrow, storysacks (which are sacks containing books and toys that go along with the books), mp3 players with books recorded on them, audio books on tape and cd - the list goes on and on. There are also mobile services for rural areas and housebound services for the elderly or ill people. To both Jack and Bednobs, if you are both going to be housebound for a while, it may be worth your while looking into being signed up to the housebound service on a temporary basis.

in 2003 Thousands of Mills and Boon books were used in the building of the M6 motorway. Best place for them.

I don't think your age is very strictly related to these posts. http://www.google.ie/...=&fp=32d09704835ffd5b
