Name of book

Babyshambles question about your favourite novels got my memory stirred about a book that I'd read sometime ago. It was called something like, "a girl named......"(can't remember what the girls name was). The girl lived near a pig farm, in a trailer park, and her mother left when she was young. When the girl herself married she was unfaithful to her husband several times though he was good to her. One day, he lost his rag and beat her up really badly after hearing that she had been unfaithful once again.

Any idea what the title is?

Could this be "Porky" by Deborah Moggah ? The girl lived near Heathrow ..... I read this probably about 20 years ago now.

Gilli you are fantastic! That;s it-Porky!. Did some google searches with snatches of the story, but couldn;t get anything. And I hate it when I can't remember a name.

That's okay ........ it just made an impression on me at the time 'cos if I remember correctly it's quite a disturbing story.
